Trust-Based Observations: Creating Cultures of Trust and Empowering Teachers to Greatness
Sunday April 6, 2025 2:45pm - 3:45pm MDT
TBA
Observations don't have to be dreaded. They can lead to what John Hattie and Michael Fullan say TBO is, "Collective teacher efficacy in action," and, "One of the biggest gains to improving teaching and learning that exists; it shows us what a culture of trust is." This session introduces TBO and its strengths based, pedagogically focused approach to teacher observation—digging into culture and the "How's" of using observations to nurture a supportive environment where teachers feel inspired and valued. During this highly interactive workshop anchored in the core tenets of Trust-Based Observations, Craig, and the audience will discuss, explore and learn how to use observations to create a culture of trust that improves teaching, learning and retention.

#weareSTFtoo: Principals as Key Members of a Successful Bargaining Unit
Sunday April 6, 2025 4:00pm - 5:00pm MDT
TBA
In Saskatchewan, principals are valued members of the STF. As such, they have a unique leadership position during the bargaining cycle. Our last round proved to be contentious and job action was designed to create purposeful chaos, which caused principals to both lead the operations of their schools and to facilitate the advocacy of members. We will tell the story from the perspective of labour relations support, provincial executive member and principal, sharing battle scars and lessons learned. 306-260-3921
